With over 20 years of clinical experience, Dr. Ayman Z. Matta is Board Certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology and a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. In 1996, Dr. Matta completed medical school at the Ain Shams University School of Medicine, a top ranked medical school in Egypt.

After finishing his first residency at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine of Yeshiva University in 1997, Dr. Matta went on to complete an additional residency at Stony Brook at the Nassau University Medical Center in 2000. One year later, Dr. Matta completed his fellowship at the Bucci Cataract & Laser Vision Institute, specializing in Anterior Segment and Cornea & Refraction.

Dr. Matta currently serves as Director of the New York Eye Institute, specializing in Cataract Surgery, Refractive Surgery, Glaucoma, Corneal Transplants, Medical and Laser Retina Surgery, including LASIK, PRK, PTK, AK, and Lens Exchange Therapy. Dr. Matta is actively accepting patients and will be a part of the Surgeon’s list.
