Dr. Aviela Segev earned her Doctor of Optometry degree from the SUNY College of Optometry, where she received extensive clinical training in comprehensive eye care and the diagnosis and management of ocular disease.

Her clinical experience includes the evaluation and management of glaucoma, diabetic retinopathy, hypertensive retinopathy, retinal disease, cataracts, corneal disease, dry eye syndrome, pediatric eye conditions, and other medical eye disorders. She has also received advanced training in specialty contact lenses, myopia management, and the use of modern diagnostic technologies, including Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT), retinal imaging, visual field testing, and corneal topography.

Dr. Segev has extensive experience providing pre- and post-operative care for cataract and other ophthalmic procedures. She is also experienced in the medical management of dry eye disease, utilizing a variety of treatment options, including prescription therapies, punctal plugs, and amniotic membranes, tailored to each patient’s individual needs.

At Ophthalmology Associates of Staten Island, Dr. Segev provides comprehensive medical eye examinations for patients of all ages and works closely with the practice’s ophthalmologists to deliver coordinated care. She evaluates and manages patients with systemic conditions that affect vision, including diabetes, hypertension, Graves’ disease, and autoimmune disorders, and provides cataract evaluations, post-operative care, and treatment for dry eye disease.
